Will State Budget Cuts Be Made In The Right Places?
Governor Corzine's $33 billion spending plan calls for $2.9 billion in cuts amid our state’s fiscal problems, including reductions in state funding for property tax rebates, hospitals, colleges, municipalities and nursing homes. Hospitals and towns have been reeling since earlier this year, when the Governor unveiled his budget plan. He also proposed steep cuts to higher education, the state Department of Environmental Protection, threatened to close nine state parks and eliminate the Department of Agriculture. A recent poll finds voters are unhappy with Gov. Corzine and the way he's handled the state budget and the way things are going in the Garden State. One poll reports Fifty-seven percent of us disapprove of how he's handled the state budget, with only 30 percent approving.
Do you think the budget cuts will be made in the right places, and if not where do you think the cuts should be made? If your one of the 57% that are not happy what are you doing to make sure your voice is heard?

How effective is Advertising in a Local Publication verses the Internet?
You see ads for businesses in local advertising publications you get in the mail all the time. Do you look at these publications? If you do shortly after you look at them do they end up in the trash or somewhere where you can’t find them when you think about a business or service you want to use that you saw in one. How do you search for information today when you are looking for a product, business or service?
I learned from my younger sons and their friend’s more and more people are using the internet to begin their search for products, services, and even local businesses. In some markets the statistics back that up saying that as many as 90% start their search on the internet. As a matter of fact less and less people are using the phone book and that’s why even Yellow Book has an on line internet based directory. After all ads on the internet run 24 hours a day 7 days a week and are there when people need to find them. When people use search engines like Google it is very effective in helping them find what they are looking for when they want it! As a matter of fact if you own a local business and have a web site, local customers and potential customers from around the world can find your business. If you offer gift certificates they can even place orders from anywhere around the world and you can send them to relatives and friends they have living in the area.
Do you still use the phone book? Are ads in magazines, monthly or weekly circulars, and even your local newspaper still effective? How do you search for a business, product or service when you need or want it?

Spas Will Be Talking To You About Sleep Health In 2007!
According to some experts in the business spas will be talking a lot about sleep health in 2007. To quote Dr. William Dement, the founder and director of the Stanford University Research Center from his book, The Promise of Sleep "Healthy sleep has been empirically proven to be the single most important determinant in predicting longevity, more influential than diet, exercise or heredity."
Traditionally Spas and even fitness centers have focused on diet, exercise, and stress reduction, but rarely emphasized sound sleep, but that is changing. With increasing evidence that healthy sleep can help people lose weight, look younger, and even result in a better sex life spas are responding with sleep management programs and have even added some power nap offerings to their menus. These offerings range from including relaxation lounges for a post treatment nap to offering clients the option of a 15 or 20 minute nap on the massage table after a massage. Some spas are even offering clients a service that allows them to nap (escape) in a darkened treatment room for 20-40 minutes while listening to soft relaxing music, and offer them the option to even add aromatherapy to the service.
Would you be interested in booking a sleep therapy service at your favorite spa, or adding this option to your next massage or facial?

Buy Now!!!
This is a great time to buy a home, it's a buyers market! If your looking to buy a home the number of homes currently on the market give buyers the best choice they have had in years. Many homes have been on the market now for a long time and seller are motivated, therefore prices continue to drop. If any home you look at is not properly priced for today's market the price you see listed is not the price you have to pay.
Buy now before interest rates go up and the number of houses on the market go down which could actual drive prices back up!
Do you agree that NOW is a good time to buy, if not why?

A Sex Offender living amongst us!
In recent news we all learned that a high-risk sex offender recently moved into our community. What makes this story most disturbing is residents in the neighborhood he was was residing found out about his presence by an anonymous flier rather than the township or local law enforcement!
Have our laws gone too far to protect the criminals at the risk of our own safety and that of our children? I think so but what can we do about it?

Wawa files lawsuit aganist Voorhees Township!
As most of you heard in Nov of 2006 our Township Planning Board voted againist Wawa's application to build a "supper store" at the corner of White Horse and Burnt Mill roads. Wawa's suite alleges that the township "schemed" to deny their application using a flawed engineering report the township received from the firm they hired to do a study on the impact of this "supper store" on traffic and safety in the area. Wawa actualy produced its own traffic expert, whose findings conflicted with the report obtained from the company the township hired.
Do you really think our Planning Board made the right decison, or will Wawa have their decision overturned?
